For the creative process, I tried looking for letters that I thought would look good together. I ended up with Q, i, and u, and C, A, and P. I discovered that the letter Q has such a simple shape, but it was able to balance and unify the work so well. I wanted to work with blue for “Qiu” because I wanted to portray a clean and fluid look, like a lake, while the “u” creates a sharp contrast just how waves crash against a rocky shore. For “CAP” I chose the primaries, as it gives a sense of playfulness. The sans-serif against the serif A brings that contrast I was looking for into the composition. Below is my creative process that led me to my final two compositions.
